I just saw this movie in 70mm. The first thing I noticed that was different than my usual digital viewings these days? Grain! And a pin sharp image.
And also I saw a splice! And the reel changeover cues up in the right top corner.
That was pretty cool and nostalgic.
Now the content: Very good Saturday/Sunday afternoon matinee film. Big monsters-bullets-crashes-hot girl.
It won't change the world but it was entertaining for sure.
And if you see it make sure you stay till the post credits scene. Like the Marvel films (But not "Logan") there is a nice Easter Egg of the next film coming.

Caught this last night (used my union card for free entry) - Nicely done and the afterward is indeed interesting of what is to come - Shorty

The " humour " bits in the trailer seem a bit oh dear.

Much better if they had left those out from my side of things.

The effects and the feel of the ape look very good though.

Looking froward to seeing the actual film.

Hoping the humour of sorts is not too much.

Best Mark.

Theres only a little bit of campy humor. Its almost 90% action.
