I have to see this one: I had 4 rolls of K40 in that last bunch processed at Dwayne's.

The wrinkle for me was a couple of days before the deadline a major snow storm hit the Eastern US and I was at UPS, USPS and FedEx before I had a commitment to get my film to Parsons before the door slammed shut.

-just to make it interesting!

I did the same like the story in that movie...catching up the dateline...so I feel like I am part of the story.

I kept 4 * K40 at the end of the dateline....and they were sent with Kodak pre-paid envelopes (PK-59) which were sold in 1970s in the USA...and Dwayne still honoured them.

ps: PK59 was not the Kodak yellow envelope which always included in the K40 box sold globally outside the USA

Those PK59s were bought from Ebay for merely 50 cents (while the actual processing cost was about $11 at that time). Not so many people knew about this processing route resulting bunch of bunch PK59s lying at Ebay unsold.

These PK59 envelopes were not only paying the processing cost but also the return postal cost to ANY country in the world!! I do not know what a sort of deal signed between Dwayne and Kodak to cover all these costs.

The last PK59s I had, could not be used since no more carts in my hand... I sent them to Kodak for replacmemt with any Kodak products...and I got a Lithium battery charger... [Wink]

ps: Dwayne actually gave 2-5 days from the dateline (Dec 31th, 2010) for cartridges came late due to the postal problem...so not exactly like what is told in "Kodachrome" film...

That what was at least explained by Krystal of Dwayne...a nice lady had been in touch with hundreds Dwayne customers but was not potrayed in the movie... [Big Grin]

The New Kodachrome Movie is also
being Screened at
the Lido Cinema in Hawthorn

https://www.lidocinemas.com.au/Movie/Kodachrome

I saw it yesterday, at peak time full price cost $21
cheaper if your a have a Concession card or a Student.
Or go off peak times.
I totally enjoyed the Movie, stars Ed Harris as the Dad Photographer, takes his son on a journey to get to Dwayne's Photos before Kodachrome deadline. Also on the journey is his Nurse, to help him in his Cancer Treatment.
And you get to see Dwayne from Dwayne's Photos the owner.

Yes I give it 9 out out 10.
