It's now happened three times. Buying second-hand film books from Amazon, then to be told the seller did not have the book in stock.

After buying and receiving confirmation, and then a day or so later, being informed the book has been sent. Only to have a further email to say "Sorry. Our supplier has let us down and we do not have the book in stock and your method of payment will be refunded".

How can Amazon allow sellers to advertise their wares when they clearly do not have the item to sell?

Remember, this is a second-hand item, not a new item currently not in stock.

Has this happened to you? [Embarrassed]

Many sellers list their stock at more than one website to maximize exposure. Inevitably, this results in the situation you describe.

Thanks, Glenn
But, in all my cases I received a despatch notification. Then a little later I received "Sorry, not available".
Not any way to run a business.

We don't do it often, but here Stateside might be different: every 2nd-hand purchase we've ever made through Amazon has been stellar.
