Paul,

I wish I could but with teaching on the Monday it would be too long for me. But I'm sure it will be a success for David

I too will be teaching on Monday but will be delighted to attend the Open Day. See you there!

Touche Simon,

But I do believe I would be coming much further than you and having just returned from Blackpool - i'm afraid I can't make the journey again this year. But I'm sure everyone who attends will support David and his family.

The proposed date of 9th December is not far from the shortest day which means days of limited daylight. This could affect long distance car drivers who dislike driving in such conditions.
I suggest that the date be changed to some time in the spring, or failing that, give members a chance to buy by mail by advertising some of the films for sale on this Forum as David has done in previous years.

Maurice,
I'm sorry to point this out but sadly David has serious health issues, another date might not be possible and those wanting to attend won't be put off by the shortest day,Mark.

I've been researching any possible way of travelling from London (without vast expenditure) but I'm seriously out of luck, partly due to certain local bus and train services that don't operate on Sundays.

However, I've found an overnight coach service that would get me to Preston early on Sunday morning, so if a kind person travelling from/though Preston could help me out with a lift, just on the way, please let me know!

It was a nice to see so many supporting David and the family although sad as well to see a film friend poorly. If you do please put David, Elaine and the family in your prayers as I'm sure they will be having a tough time now.

Thank you Paul for being such a support yesterday and I think most of us will be very happy to have purchased something from David's collection to treasure.

God bless.

An excellent day in every respect. David was doing his best keeping everyone happy and full credit to him in what was no doubt a difficult event to host. Paul Barker was also doing an amazing job in organising and sorting the hundreds and hundreds of films. Elaine and family kept everyone more than adequately fed and watered, so it really was a team effort. As Lee so rightly put it, keep David and family in your prayers, as I am doing daily.

the reason there are never no pictures as you need a degree to put them on why not do it plain and simple like they do on reel magic

Morning David lad. They never did make computing easy blast it.
Take care pal.

Been sifting thru the archive of the old film fairs of years ago and found some 8mm I shot in Cinemascope one in particular was The Watermans London on the day Star Wars got its release by Derann. Now that's a monumental bit of footage.

My photos are all on 35mm slides, being processed as we speak. As soon as I have them back, I'll email digital copies to Dominique for him to kindly upload. I also shot some Super 8 film.

Slides, brilliant Simon.

Is that on the new kodak film.

What do they work out at cost wise please as been fancying a try myself.

Best Mark.

It's two of the new Kodak Ektachrome slide films for £23 inc postage on 7dayshop.com

Processing is £7-£10. The slides I took were on Fuji 400ASA film, as the light wasn't too good inside, but I did use the new Ektachrome 100ASA back in October and results were great.

Thanks to Dominique; I have just emailed him pictures from David's Open Day which he will upload here. These pictures are taken from the slides I was shooting on the day, so are not digital images. However, you will be able to see clearly a flavour of what happened on the day. There really was pile after pile of 16mm films.
