Have you ever meant to do things but put it off? [Roll Eyes]

Well back in 2011 bang on Christmas, Yvonne broke her tooth, now to find a dentist at that time of year is really hard. Anyway after phoning around she found one in the city center.

Now what is odd about that, nothing really, except she was to knock on the door a certain number of times. Strange I thought, when we got there Yvonne knocked that certain number. The door opened and this youngster escorted us up three flight of stairs to a room full of clocks and I mean "FULL" of clocks.

It turned out the building had not been given the ok after the earthquakes hence the knocks. The lady with the clocks was the dentist wife, and the kid her son. Her husband soon had Yvonne tooth repaired and did not cost us the earth either.

Well I never forgot those clocks, and later they moved to a city mall setting up there. I usually don't like dentists, but this person was really good and the family really nice. After sorting things out last week, I thought [Roll Eyes]

I will give them this "Star Wars" clock, so called in and since I was last there the clock collection has grown big time, finding a place for it is going to be a challenge [Smile]

….so that was the clock taken care of.

Next stop was a tyre company in town where I had been going for years. It to was a family business, the thing was when I called in to get a slow fixed last week, one of the now retired owners was working on a racing mini at the back. I thought I have to see this [Cool]

the engine was out and he told me of a locating ring inside the engine that had come out. Its really strange I have not worked on anything like that since the early 1970s but somehow everything came flooding back. I said that ring was a trap and had to be fitted a certain way....the old expert talking

So how can I remember that stuff? but have to think mmmmm now what day is it [Big Grin]

Anyway I still had my Haynes Workshop manual that my parents sent out from the UK to me along with all my other junk to NZ back in the 80s.

So dropped of the manual as well, it might come in useful as it covered the 998cc engine the one they were using.

So you see being retired gives you the time to do all these things...
