In case any London-based enthusiasts are interested, the Kennington Bioscope is presenting a full weekend of rare silent comedies with live accompaniment this weekend. (I'm on the bill, but don't worry, there are much funnier things too!)

Chris,

I am interested if you will review Laurel and Hardy's The Battle of The Century, because the synopsis states that it's the full restored version of the film on the program.

I know that there has been still shots of the film which bridge the story between the boxing match and the pie fight and I'm curious if there is live footage during the sequence of the insurance salesman trying to sell an accident policy to Ollie when the fountain pen explodes on Ollie's face. And if there's any footage of the boys walking on the sidewalk where Stan bumps into a washing machine that's outside of an appliance store?

If you are able to attend this screening please let us know about the presentation and if Lobster Films or Criterion Films may release this onto video?

I'm sure that the Chaplin, Monty Banks and W.C. Fields program titles will be well received too.

Thanks.
