Hi everyone

I hope it's OK to mention the following event as it might be of interest to members here.

Anyone that is within striking distance of Selby might enjoy seeing some classic films on the big screen this weekend.

Selby Civic Society are celebrating 50 years with 4 classics from 1969. On Saturday you can see 'The Italian Job' at 2.30pm and at 7.30pm the Ken Loach film 'Kes'. On Sunday 'Monte Carlo or Bust' is screening at 2.30pm and at 7.30pm Oscar winning Maggie Smith in 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie'.

You can get tickets online from the Selby Town Hall website (just Google the name and it will be the top item).

For those that don't know, Selby is a small market town close to Leeds & York. It also happens to be the home of Movie Maker's Bill Davison - and there will be an event featuring Bill later this year at Selby Town Hall.

There may be an opportunity to use the same venue for a 8mm/16mm event at some future date.

Thanks for reading and hopefully see a few of you there this weekend!
