I've just had a 20x12 foot concrete base created for my new Film Storage Unit, which is going to be a 20x10 foot luxury wooden structure, which I've just ordered, hopefully it will be constructed within 2-4 weeks, but it could be a little longer as they are very busy during the Summer months, but at least it's in the works, then I can get the business really going from my new address, as at the moment everything is crammed into our garage, not the most ideal of situations, but you can only do one thing at a time! I'll update when I know more, I may even try and figure out firstly how to use my digital camera, and then upload images, but that's for another day!

Barry
If the concrete base has just been laid I believe there is a certain period before anything heavy can be constructed on it.
Are you aware of this?

Yes, well aware, but as the new structure cannot be fitted for 2-4 weeks, that's well long enough for the base to harden.

I've got a digital camera (when I find it!), and once finished and lined out I'll try and add some photos, but at this time I'm still waiting for delivery and instalation, I've been given a time frame of 2-4 weeks, it's now 2 weeks since order, so here's hoping I hear something soon.

Just had an email stating that my new film storage unit will be erected on the 30th of September, it will be a nice belated Birthday present to myself, I can't wait!

I hope that, once constructed, you'll post a picture or two of it as, with all the discussion, I'd love to see it and, as a yank, I doubt I'd be able to see it anytime soon in person. [Smile]

Osi,

Good news I've found my digital camera, now I've got to work out how to use the bloody thing!

I feel you're pain! I hate digital as a general rule, unless it's so easy that even a moron like me can understand it, (like with my FLIP digital cameras ... thank goodness for those!) [Smile]

Barry, pictures would be great to see.

I'm just going to subscribe to Classic's Film Collector magazine.

How about an article about this in future issues??

The new film unit has been erected, not to my design, so I've got a refund coming, but it will be fine. Now the hard part starts, as we are going to insulate and board out the inside, then add power and lights, so still a lot of work to do. Once done I'll work out how to use my digital camera, and I'll try putting some pictures up on the various forums.
