Martyn Stevens has just added a very interesting test report on the ill-fated Pathescope Princess at his web site:

http://www.cinerdistan.co.uk/toys.htm

Notice that the author of this article actually recommends this projector!.
Looking at the awful 9.5mm equipment that Pathescope were selling in the 1950's (I had a PAT camera and it was a piece of junk in comparison to 8mm cameras of that period), it's no wonder that they went out of business. How different things could have been if they had come up with a really excellent 9.5mm projector design, similar in quality to the then revolutionary Eumig P8, which swept the World. And can someone tell me why Pathe had such an aversion to actually using sprockets? What was the big deal - did provision for sprockets knock up the cost that much?
