Congratulations to to seller, yes, but more than the cost of a new one from Buckingham!! Not quite as bad as many of the silly prices reached or asked for many other 9.5mm projectors and films. Ken Finch

The Elf claw quick pull down is pretty much a no go area for vintage films as many have found out the hard way and I eventually retuned all my films to project only on a Pathe Vox which is extremely kind to sound films, if upgraded to modern lighting and a new amplifier delivers a good performance in the home even 75 years on... Have a Bolex lens in mine which just about tops it off.

The last prices for newly converted Buckingham 9.5 in 2010, were-
Optical £795
Optical/mag playback £975
Silent (classic RM) £525.
They've stopped manufacture now.

I agree with lea if pathe could not make a 9.5 no one could in my opinion best stick to the one which has been tried and tested. I still run a black debrie now and again which my father bought new 60 years ago and its still as good as ever

I'm surprised at the experience of Lee with the Elf conversions, I don't have any personal experience, but have seen them in operation at the 9.5 group and assumed that they had a good reputation, especially as 9.5 prints will naturally be old.

I am also happy with my 9,5 Buckingham.
