We had our first ‘Steve the Horse Fan Club’ meeting of 2014 recently celebrating the animated works of Roland Davies and screened Steve The Horse cartoons all available on 9-5 film. The consisted of a lunch, enthusing about these unique little British cartoons followed by a 9.5mm sound film programme to end the day. It was interesting when we had our meal the number of interested people also dining that were interested asking questions etc. Some of us will be attending the North West Film Fair to enthuse about Steve the Horse and who knows they may even include one of his films in the screenings.

We would like to locate a French sound film of Steve so if anyone can help please do PM message me.

I envy Lee having all the Steve The Horse films in the original 9.5mm sound. It would be wonderful however if some of the Steve shorts could be re- printed to super 8 sound. I am sure he would gain a whole bunch of new fans! Any possibility? [Smile]

Steve's Treasure Hunt is on super 8 sound and turns up regularly and a good print. [Smile]

I have "Steve Steps Out" (1936) on 16mm.
Here is a link for more information. It appears that the DVD is out of stock but no doubt Grahame can advise.

Our aim is to affectionately perpetuate Steve and also the creator Roland Davies with the DVD still available to fan club members obviously. We do give talks about his creation to those who are interested, are currently producing a video celebrating Steve the Horse which is proving fun and have our own archive which we display at various events.
