"Hats Off" from 1927 is a film generally considered to be lost in its entirety.
Is there any evidence that it ever appeared on 9.5mm?

I see no reason why a film would be considered completely lost if it had been realesed on a commercial scale on 9.5. What happens sometimes is that some films appears on isolated 9.5 copies. But that would be, sadly, surprising for a Laurel and Hardy short.

many old films have been made available to the collector, even in slight truncated form, HATS OFF would be no exception - I wouldn't guess what a title on the box would be, my only thinking is the carrying of the washing machine and stumbling about, for the essence of the segment - I'm speaking of a 3-minute headline edition - If longer, so much the better - Any L&H in 9.5 is worth a search - Shorty
