Rodney, we will be in that Fest with the J. P. McGowan just newly-found in 9.5. What a gem, originally from 1914. Expect more by email.

All leads on McGowaniana welcome here! [Roll Eyes]

It's nice to see there is a 9.5 festival in Australia. I understand that, given the distance, it is easier and cheaper to get "films" on digital support but do you also project some films with a movie projector in that festival (or is it a 100 % digital one) ?

Hi Dominique

this will be our 4th 9.5mm Film Festival, we have so far received Independent Short Film entries from France and UK, getting an original 9.5mm is most Welcome, but we have so far only got DVD Transfers.
The 9.5mm short films we shot in Australia, and the 9.5mm Home Movies are all Projected on 9.5mm FILM.

I noticed your from Belgium, we have had no 9.5mm from your Country yet, would you like to send us an Entry?

Best in 9.5mm
Rodney

Thanks for the answer. I'm happy to learn that you have real 9.5 projections in Australia. I shoot only for me, my films don't have the level for any festival [Smile]

Dominique, I would encourage you to send your film. The main thing is to show that 9.5 does live on. You are proof of that. Having an entry from Belgium would be special for people here. [Wink]

Hi Dominique

you mention you shoot "only for me, my films don't have the level for any festival".

Our 9X9 & Home Movie Day

is not a competition, there are no prizes,
but there is recognition, of the Film Festival in
magazines like Reel Deals,Cine 9,5 and Group 9.5
obviously the entries from UK and France are
of a high standard, but the Home Movies on 9.5mm we show also
were only made for me type films, of Holidays.
You are most welcome to send a Holiday Film of
Belgium or even make one on 9.5mm.

Best in 9.5mm
Rodney

Rodney,
is your festival connected with the official "home movie day" on October 19th or when is it scheduled to take place?
You just mention a submission deadline but no date for the festival.

Actually there is history:

 -

Dino Everette did a 9.5mm show at the Sea Theater during CineSea 3.

Paul Adsett brought 9.5 to CineSea a few years ago. My son went over and saw it and was fascinated: he'd never seen it before.

Nobody knows what happend to Kevin Phillips. His site is still online but without any updates from ages. Kevin Phillips has not answered any messages since many years so, sadly, the worse is to fear.

Sadly the Moving Image Coalition has lost Two Valuable members, we Lost Tony Woods in 2017 aged 77, the Last Melbourne Super 8 Film Group Administrator (Club President) and Founder of the Moving Image Coalition, which started at the Nova Cinema, Carlton, Melbourne. He resided in Fitzroy, Melb', VIC. A keen Artist in Painting & Super 8.

https://www.realtime.org.au/vale-tony-woods-1940-2017/

And now lost 2019 Paul Dickinson aged 74, who has let us use his Chilternwood Multimedia Park for Tours, Workshops and Screenings since 2004.

In 2017 when we had the 9 X 9 & HMD it was the 95th Anniversary of 9.5mm, and we had the it at Two Locations
Melbourne and Chiltern. That why this year 2019 the 9x9 & HMD Event is only only in one Location Melbourne.
