I had to repeat here on the 9.5mm column a posting that Dominique put on "eBay oddities".
A seller has the sound film "The Devil Bat" at a starting price of £650. He says he can't run it to check it, he also says it has damp marks and buckling. When this film was new it probably would have cost around £19.
He also wants a 9.5mm sound projector, so why is he trying to sell this film?
Bids anybody. [Big Grin]

Love ebay when I feel down and need a laugh.

Price now slashed to only £225!

Incidentally, as a non-9.5 user, I was interested to see in the photos how far in from the edge the soundtrack is. Considering the picture virtually reaches the other edge, I'm puzzled by this.

Adrian, not only are there varying levels of printing of the 9.5 soundtracks, but varying types of soundtracks that were printed, which is why one of the never ending issues with 9.5 sound prints are the quality of the sound you get, you absolutely need a projector with an adjustable optical reader ..Plus the image is often chopped unevenly on the 9.5 sound prints because of the unusual aspect ratio....That being said I would still love to have a print of Devil Bat on 95 sound.... [Eek!]

The variable density track shown on "The Devil Bat" is probably the best track system which Pathescope used. The variable area tracks were always a problem if they were not printed centrally.
But as Dino said, 9.5mm sound projectors have a method of moving the sound reader to achieve the best output.

I too would like a print of The Devil Bat on 9.5mm but I don't think I would pay up to such dizzy heights for a copy. [Smile]
