The British Group 9.5 will held the Cine Fair on Saturday 13th April (from 10.30 am to 3pm) at the usual place in central London (St Gabriel's Parish House Churchill Gardens off Lupus Street, Pimlico).

It was nice to see several forum members and (now) familiar faces. I was lucky to find several 9.5 sound films together with som àe super 8 titles and a standard/regular 8 Griffith featurette.
I will post some pictures next week but hope to see some from other attenders 🙂

As always it was a great day, and so many films to look through. Picked up some 1930s 9.5mm home movies and several 9,5 sound features. Also 2 reels of Flash Gordon episodes re-perf to 9.5 sound

It was great to finally meet you Dom. I certainly bought more than I intended to!
There was one print I regret not buying and therefore, could anyone help me to identify this seller and contact details? Please excuse my ignorance!

Tony Reypert from Buckingham Films Services. He advertises in the 9.5 magazine. If you cannot find his details, I will post them when I'm at home but hopefully, someone can provide them meanwhile.

You got me there too Stuart. Here's some more of Tony's films for sale all at great prices.

I picked up a still sealed Andy Clyde B&W 400ft and the PM Films 600ft versions of Hurricane Express and Celebration 150 (the Stockton & Darlington railway's anniversary loco cavalcade at Shildon on Agfa stock) from him for a total of £30.

What a fantastic day. Seemed more busier than last year, it was packed by late morning. I picked up the 600ft of Deranns Who Dares Wins and the Roger Rabbit trailer plus a few more. Also picked up some Reel Image magazines.

I don't collect 9.5 but I found more films to buy than I was expecting, so it was well worth the trip.

I believe Mr Reypert of Buckingham FS had recently obtained a substantial Super 8 collection and I was also very pleased with what he charged me for a few films, which all seemed to be in as new condition. They not surprisingly seemed to be 'going like hot cakes'. I even got a non-faded PM Films 400' colour release, which I thought was practically impossible!

The lady in the corner with lenses and various odds and ends was also in a very generous mood, charging me only £1 each for 50' rolls of Super 8 white leader; an exciter lamp for Elf/Eiki projectors; and a roll of new 16mm b/w countdown leaders. Why pay more when you get such good bargains at these events!

I agree with the above comments about the facts that there were many films for sale.

The Encyclopaedia Brian was refering to is certainly THE 9.5 event of those last years. It listes all the films ever released in 9.5, in all languages. Only a few months more to wait for the priting…

Another great video from Stuart. I really like his 2016 BFCC video, which perfectly captures the joy of the event, and play it often for my own enjoyment.

Great little video, so well produced. Enjoyed it immensely.

I love your video, Stuart. Did you find Buckingham Films details in the magazine ? If not, I can put them here but it's a busy week for me ; after London, I went to PaePa (I stayed only a few hours at home on Mobday night), so give me some more time, please.

Dom
You must have quite a substantial collection of 9.5 by now. How many sound features?

What a event! Many rare films!

Thanks for doing that great job on the video, Stuart. So odd that in my part of the world, so ironically close to Hollywood, film collectors of any gauge are too few in number to make an event like this, let alone in 9.5! Great fun to see.

Good little video Stuart. Never thought I would be on You Tube. That's me in conversation with Terry Vaccani about the 9.5mm Encyclopaedia. I am the old geezer with the blue jumper , back view towards the end of the video !!! [Wink]

Terry, I've just checked on my lists. I have about 53 features in French and 19 in English. I regarded as features, films from 6 reel. Never counted before. I'm surprised myself 🙂

Wow! That's some collection and that's not including one reelers. Sounds like you are becoming quite an authority on 9.5. [Smile]

Thanks [Smile] I'm sure there are many bigger 9.5 collectors and certainly better specialists than I...

Stuart, if you still need it :

How nice to see an Ace so good!

Dom, but is '55 your birth year? You look like a person no more than 40 years old!
What did you write on the shirt? [Smile]

No, Luigi. I was born in 1968 (so, I'm 51). The sweatshirt says : "Keep cool and eat chocolate Belgium" 😜

One day I will have to come to Brussels to taste the chocolate on the originale place. I don't trust the Italians who make Belgian dishes!

Except that I have a recurring nightmare: I imagine the big cities of Belgium as represented in the short "Harpya" (beautiful film!) by Raoul Servais! Haha. [Smile]
