hi gentlemen,
My old Bell & Howell 613 silent projector has thrown a wobbler on me. Its 250 volts and has stood on a shelf for a couple of years. I thought I would give it a run, but I just kept blowing the house main! I checked the power cord out, changed the fuse and the power lead is now giving out 240 volts, and I managed to get it plugged into the projector again without actually blowing the main this time, but as soon as I turned the projector on it blew again. I have visually checked everything inside and all seems okay by my 'mark one eyeball',.... there is only one capacitor, a 0.4 uf 700vdc TCC jobbie. I can't even see a resistor it all looks so basic. I discharged and checked the cap with my esr Meter and it reads 000, so could it be that? Any advice as always be appreciated. My electronics knowledge is basic as you probably know by now! I am learning but am very cautious about messing with what I don't understand! Thanks!
