I have bought a 16mm feature from an American seller through the eBay Global Shipping Programme and have been tracking the parcel's progress around the US. It has now reached Erlanger in Kentucky and the details are:- "Customs Documentation and Labelling".
However, I have now received an email from eBay:- "We are writing to inform you that your recent transaction through the Global Shipping Programme has cleared customs and is now out for delivery with the courier. You should receive additional automated updates regrading delivery status".
Does the word automated give an answer? Obviously the film has not yet left the US, so perhaps some automated equipment has picked up the word Customs and jumped to the conclusion that the parcel has cleared UK customs.
Does any member have any comment on this?
