Hello! First time poster here. Recently I acquired a Kodak Ektadound 265 moviedeck along with several old family films from my dad. I have never seen these films before, and want to find any footage of my grandfather along with his voice so my Mom can see it/hear it (he passed in 86). I plugged the unit in, turned it on, and it wouldn’t run. So after a few attempts of tuning it on, and off I finally was able to get it to run. However if I turn it back off it will stop running. I have to repeat the process to make it run again. So I’m not sure what that’s all about. The big issue I have though is that the automatic film feeder will not catch the film. I stick the film into the designated slot and it feels as if something is just “flapping” on the film while it’s in the slot. I managed to take the top cover of the machine off to get a look inside. However where the film slot is located it looked a little overwhelming. I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I was just wondering if there was a trick to getting it to work, or if I’m able to fix the issue myself. I don’t have a problem getting my hands dirty and tearing into it, I just want to make sure I can put it back together properly. I also would like to properly clean, lubricate, etc the inside of the unit. Not sure how to go about that. Also upon taking the top cover off, I did notice that a small spring was loose and laying in the bottom. I have no idea where it goes. Hopefully it’s not a make or break issue. I’m not very well versed on these these types of things, so I’ll try my best to follow along with any help that I get. There aren’t any YouTube videos or anything I can find to guide me in the right direction. I really appreciate any help!
Thank you!
