What did you do with items inside the original boxes? Keeping them in or out?

Buying cameras or projectors with the original boxes is somekind a plus. However keeping them in their OBs a sort of hiding the beauty of their bodies. While putting them outside will attract dust as well as the empty boxes need extra space.

So what did you do? Some members have a glass wall cabinet to avoid the dust but that is expensive. Any plastic transparent case available or can it be made?

Large clear plastic bags for me so that you can still see them but keep the dust out.

Hi Winbert,
Plastic transparent storage boxes and use them upside down. Because they are available in all shapes and sizes, simply stand the projector on the lid and place the box part over the top.

I agree that a row of projectors, each with their own custom made acrylic case would look rather smart. But also think they would cost the price of the value of the projector to have made.

I keep all my projectors in their original cardboard boxes with the top and bottom pieces, and other small bits in their receptables.
I always think when buying that a projector such as this has had a previous owner who really respected his projector.
I once bought on German eBay a beautiful pristine Eumig 824 with absolutely everything, even including various Eumig brochures from yesteryear.

Where possible I have kept my projectors and editor/viewer in their orignal boxes, but it is tempting now to get rid of the massive Eumig 926GL box.

Acrylic is expensive indeed. Here, for replacating turntable dust cover is already costing around $40s.

I found my wife food mixer/blender of KitchenAid does have in market a cover (or sleeve) made of strong plastic PVC (Polyvinylchloride), we called here "mica plastic". This was custom made and I think they sew it to suit different type of models.

I don't know if I can be replicating the existing ST-800 dust cover. Should I have it.. then I can display my projectors' sexy bodies without need to worry about the dust. 😃

Do you know if that "mica plastic" can be sewed or join with special glue?

My Yelco DS810MT came without any dustcover.
When I was in an „1€ shop“ to buy some party decorations a few days later, I stumbled across a generic „duffle bag“ that was designed to store and transport sewing machines, embroidery machines, … . As it was designed to carry up to 10kg and as it was only 8€, I gave it a try. And it fits my Yelco! (But e.g. my Bauer T610 wouldn’t fit.)

When you need something that perfectly fits, then contact a nearby upholstery (for cars, bikes,…) as they can produce dustcovers out of truck tarpaulin (or similar).
