In case any London based members are interested, I will be putting on a show for Professor Ian Christie, where I will demonstrate various examples of colour films from the earliest years of the cinema, including Kinemacolor, at Birkbeck College on Friday 28th March. Dave Locke will be helping me operate a 1919 Ernemann projector which was converted by Nigel Lister (not by me as it says on the link...) to show this pioneering process. Then we will be running the first ever two-colour Technicolor feature, The Toll of the Sea (digitally). It's a free event, but you have to reserve a ticket.
We also hope to have on display an original Kinemacolor camera, thanks to the generosity of cameraman and collector John Adderley.
