The 16mm Blackhawk DIRTY WORK that I once had was OK, but some scenes were printed too light -- like it wasn't timed properly in the lab. The Super 8 I once had was below average. My current print of this title is a gorgeous 1940's Film Classics printdown. It is missing most of the main titles, but other than that it is complete. If you've never seen a 16mm printdown, add this to the list of things you gotta see in your lifetime. It is like watching 3D. They are printed directly from 35mm negatives -- the same ones used to print the original release prints shown in theaters.
Careful though -- once you see a L&H original or printdown, you will immediately want to upgrade all your L&H talkies to 16mm. No more riding shotgun on the focus knob -- you can sit back and actually enjoy the movie.
