....yes it is because it has the sprokets in the centre, I have this model and it is a great projector.

No information in the listing though. It may not work but could be a good restoration project for someone with mechanical expertise.

The seller's description says : "For display or spare parts only. You might be able to get it working again if you know what you're doing. In original box with power lead instruction manual." Hence the price...

I missed that part. I expect I was impatient and didn't let the web page load completely. A non-working projector is always a gamble but I'm too far away and the postage is quite high.

There appears to be a couple of shafts for 16mm spools, could it perhaps be a dual gauge 9.5/16? But no extra sprockets in evidence.

Contacted the seller who states that it trips the fuses when switched on. Could be a simple short or possibly something more major like a burnt out motor. Pity about the high postage but seller will look into other options.

I checked a price comparison website and came up with £10 including VAT for a 48 hours courier from St Marys to my postcode. This assumes 8kg weight and a box around 40x30x25cm.

Whenever someone says "trips" it usually means a fault from live to earth and a potential shock risk. [Frown]

Hi, It is a Specto 500 dual 9.5/16 by the look of it. and should have a box of change over parts containing sprockets, and spool arm spindles. It should also have a dual gate fitted. The electrical problem could well be the motor or the speed control. All should be checked and repaired before use. The costs of this should be reflected in the price if it is required for use other than a static display. Original lamps 115v 500watt, prefocus base are quite hard to find these days, so a Halogen conversion may have to be considered. Having said that, they were a very popular purchase in their day. As other members may have noticed this non-working Specto sold for £32. Unless you can repair one yourself, around £100 looks reasonable at the moment for a working example with a halogen lamp conversion
