I do the same thing as Paul. I have an old Japanese made projector that is only good for rewinds, (scratches the hell out of films!), and it actually has a much faster rewind than my Eumig 926 or my two Chinon 9500's and, as others have said, it does keep the wear and tear down on the motors in the projectors hence, in theory, they will last longer.
