Hello all... I'm looking for a little assistance. I recently came across some old 8mm films at an estate sale. Some of them were in boxes, but several were in round metal tins. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to look at them yet to determine their quality or if they are in fact what the tins say they are. But I'm hoping someone here can tell me if they are anything special, or if they're common run-of-the-mill films. I've done some research online, but have not come up with anything definitive. Here's what I've got. (I'm giving you everything that's listed on the tin, or the first portion of the film):
TIN REEL #1 -- Perils of Pauline
TIN REEL #2 -- Zippy's Birthday Party (silent short)/It Came From Outer Space/Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein
BOXED REEL #5 -- Abbott and Costello (Castle Films): Have Badge, Will Chase.
Again... I'm still in the research faze of trying to figure out what I have here. Any information would be appreciated. I'm really anxious to get a look at the FDR footage to see exactly what it is. Unfortunately, I have not been able to come across an 8mm film projector that I can use. Hopefully that will change shortly.

They all sound fairly common to me, if looking to sell them I would advise putting on ebay as a LOT, and trying to make the picture look exciting....Foe instance if some of the original boxes are in great shape someone may buy them to replace their copy, etc..

Can you tell us what is the diameter of each reel, because there are several films in one reel.
Or the easier one, can you tell me if BOXED REEL #4 -- Woody Woodpecker (Castle Films): Secret Agent F.O.B. has the same size with TIN REEL #3 -- Gymnasium Gym/Gate Crasher (Woody Woodpecker)/First Alarm (Our Gang).

Thanks for the replies guys... and sorry for the delay. I've been able to do a little research, and I think I've figured out what I have (or don't have, as the case may be). The two that I think may have some real value are the "Perils of Pauline" and "Mickey's Mad Dog." The Pauline episode is one of the two so-called lost episodes called "The Pirate's Treasure." The Mickey Mouse cartoon is rare in that it's called "Mickey's Mad Dog"... not "The Mad Dog" as it's commonly known. This may have been an early version of the film.
Anyhow... I've put them all up for sale on Ebay, and I've provided the links here if you're interested.
