On mine there is nothing else near the counter. That goes for either of them????
It does need to be a small LED display though admittedly to fit into the tiny slot provided.
I have to say, if I was currently in the market for another Beaulieu, which I'm not, I don't think a missing or non functioning counter would put me off buying one, personally.
As I say, I never ever even glance at any of mine, not even the digital ones on the Bauer s.
They provide me with no functional purpose whatsoever, not even when recording on the Bauers.
A machine as good as these, would benefit far more by fitting a frequency meter accurate to at least 1/100th of a cycle rather than a frame counter. In lock down mode then with a highly accurate frequency meter, it would be really easy to set up my video software to sync the soundtrack to a known locked frame rate without having to find the exact frame rate on each occasion.
