Hey all. I just purchased a Pathe Baby from 1927-28 with the original box and accessories, including splicer, spare lamp, and cleaning kit. Projector is complete but shutter is frozen...remarkably intact and not crumbling though....and drive belt to take up is gone, having rotted away. This model has the variable transformer (105-115v) base. New shutter is forthcoming. A few questions. What is recommended for drive belt replacement? I've heard the base transformer is dangerous and should be bypassed in favor of a modern system. Any ideas there? Also cloth cord repros for main power and power to lamp? It's really too nice to be just a mantle piece decoration and with a little help, I'm sure I can get this working again. Thanks!
