Hello and thank you for letting me join this group. I recently purchased a Cine-Kodak editor splicer at a local antique mall for $25, could not pass it up. It does have an instruction manual but I was hoping someone has done a tutorial on using this one. I think I have the splicer figured out, cannot get cement locally but as a model builder I do have a lot of CA glue I can use. The included press tapes are not very tacky at all. I also have grandads Revere 8 projector that works well but is missing the ball and spring for the detent on the take down lever, any ideas on parts? To late to try and figure out how to post a picture....

Welcome to the Forum John. See if your editor looks like the one in this old thread I posted in 2012. Mine is for 16mm, but the 8mm version works the same.

I don't have a manual, but I'm guessing it shows you how to set it up. Perhaps the pics in the post will help also. As far as the splicer goes. I used it briefly, but later moved on to presstapes and then to a Ciro Tape Splicer. If you are just splicing regular 8mm film than cement will be fine. DO NOT use any modeling glue. I recommend only using film cement ...you can find it on Ebay.

Although not my favorite...I have also used Super Glue for splicing. It takes longer to dry... but if your are careful it does work. I have a video tutorial on YouTube showing how to edit with film cement and Super Glue. It doesn't use the Kodak splicer in your Cine kit...but it gives you and idea of how to the cement works.

Thank you Janice, I have the exact same kit. Today I will clean it and give it a try. I was wondering what the 2 extra reel holder was for but I guess it's just to store the next reel you want to view, honestly did not know it was in there until I got it home. It does have the 2 glue and water bottles which I like for authenticity, I will look online for some cement and some film cleaner. Most of my films are from 1953 and up to the early 60's and I want them to last so I need some kind of conditioner/cleaner as they are a little brittle. Thank you for your response.
