Hi Trev, Well the Monaco did not sell, even at 350 Euros! I would love to know what the reserve price was on this beauty. This would be a great projector to have, but I suspect that finding any 4.75mm film to run through it, would be just about impossible, in fact a roll of 4.75 mm film might sell for 350 Euros by itself! Based on the film frame area, I would think that the quality of the 4.75mm widescreen frame was probably about the same as standard 8mm. Looking at the pictures on the eBay site, my first thought is that Pathe could have had a far simpler (and less costly) design, if they had taken the approach of simply rotating the whole projector 90 degrees for the 4.75mm widescreen film, instead of rotating the lens turret and claw mechanism. Anyway, a very bold concept by Pathescope, which unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!) could not compete with the overwhelming popularity of standard 8mm.
