My wife, to suprise me for Christmas, bid and won a print of Derann's release of Snow White and the 7 dwarves. (Great having a wife that loves the hobby too, huh?)

My question is: what reels does this come on. The seller says it's on 3X400ft. plus one 200ft. reel, but I know that this film is 83 minutes long, so they would need more than that amount of reels, (especially as it also has the 1938 and 1994 trailers with the film.

any advice please?

Hi Osi, I think the seller made a mistake. I think he was supposed to say 3 X 600ft & 1 X 200ft. The two trailers will be on the 200ft reel. If the film is on 3 x 400ft then they must be overfilled.

The longest running time I personaly have had on a 400ft reel is 21 mins. On a 200ft reel 11 mins (Deranns the Snowman extract)

That's what I assumed as well, I just wanted some feedback on it. Thanks for the info!

Andrew,

The 1x200 foot,contains an
original preview with Walt Disney
introducing the 7 Dwarfs as
miniature models.

The second half of the reel
presents the 1994 Theatrical
re-release of the feature.

This release is from the
restored Disney negative.

The RKO Logo and all of the
reel change over cues have been
air brushed away.

All of the reels are printed
with perfect "grading/timing."
