Hi,
I'm rather confused by your posting:
upload = you want to transfer a manual from your computer into the server's manual-section
download = you want to transfer a manual from the server's manual-section onto your computer
Adobe's Acrobat Reader is a tool to display PDF-files, not to transfer them into a direction.
But you might refer to the plugin that comes with the Acrobat Reader that'll enable most browsers to download and display a pdf-file directly?! (If you do have problems with this plugin, do a right-click onto the manual and select "save as...", wait for the download to be ended, then open the file with the Acrobat Reader from your harddisk.)
Confused, Jörg

Hi,
just a few remarks: a) Adobe's Acrobat Reader 6.x is rather old. So if there's a newer version for your system, please install it. (Unfortunately the newer versions aren't available for WinNT4.0, Win98, ...) b) Keep in mind that the manuals are rather large. Hence it might take several minutes(!) before it's downloaded completely EVEN WHEN you're using DSL or similar fast access-methods. (With a 56k-modem or ISDN, it might even take 30min or more!) c) The Acrobat-Reader-Files can be "compressed". If this is the case, the plug-in might only be able to display the first page until the second page is completely downloaded or even until the complete file is downloaded. In other words: It's quite normal for most PDFs that the first page shows up "immediately" while it "takes ages" before the next page(s) are accessible. d) Depending on your browser, ... it might happen that the file is still downloading even though the browser looks like nothing is happening. e) There are several cases where the Adobe-plug-in can't work correctly due to incorrect settings with firewalls, the IE's "security"-settings, ... . So if this page is the only one causing this problem, you'll have to check your settings.
If nothing else helps: DON'T DO A LEFT-CLICK (with your mouse) ONTO THE LINK TO A MANUAL, BUT A RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT "SAVE AS...", ... . When your problem still occurs with that pdf-file: Please tell us which file is causing the problem - either the file is too new to work with Acrobat Reader 6 or the file might even be damaged on the server.
Here's a link to longer help text for problems with the Acrobat Reader plug-in: http://www.bnl.gov/itd/webapps/pdf_help.asp My "save as"-hint is described in more details as "Solution 2 - Download PDF to hard drive".
Hope this helps, Jörg
