I recently acquired through eBay one of my favorite films from the 1970s that I never knew existed on super 8 (magnetic sound)...PAPERBACK HERO. It is a Canadian ex library print. It's almost complete with good color and sound, but the four minute shower scene with Keir Dullea and Elizabeth Ashley was cut out...there's a big old tape splice right there so I know the scene was actually printed. I'm bummed out that some "library cop" cut this scene because of frontal female nudity. Two other scenes with rear nudity (male and female) were not cut... Not because I need to see the nude scene (I have the DVD), but because that scene has the main characters opening up about themselves, and is an important part of understanding their actions in the film, I was very, very disappointed. I hate features that are edited. If there was no splice there, and it was printed that way (as a PG film like an airline print) it wouldn't bother me so much... I'm wondering if anyone else might have this super 8 feature intact. It was a popular 1972 Canadian production, and I'm sure there were a lot of prints made. Anyone?
