Not too sure if this is a realistic question but as the 50th is (hopefully) being considered a landmark for the BFCC would it be a good idea for an auction as an Xtra item to the norm? Having never seen one before for super 80 im not sure if this is a realistic idea???

Yeah, what's up with that? Did Kodak take it upon themselves to surprise everyone and improve upon the IMAX 70mm format like they did upon standard 8mm?

Tried an auction years ago Tom. It didn't work.

It would have worked at the BFCC in a smaller venue. Where we tried was the ex-Northfields Odeon (the Top Hat Club). Just too vast to be intimate. At Blackpool there is the advantage of having a small room where everyone is close.
If we'd have had the smaller Queen's Hall 10 years ago an auction may have been a goer. Personally I don't care for auctions so that's also a factor. I could only ever stand a few minutes at Blackpool. We're not currently using the Queen's Hall, just the big Victoria Hall. Well, it is the 50th convention, 30 years of the BFCC and the 40th anniversary of Super 8.
