http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200407203219&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

Heres another

But he says the optical sound system is not working.
I would love to get my hands on one of theses butes but at the moment cant afford the high asking price of thoses not for sale on fleabay

Yes, I was watching the first one - very surprised it went for such a low price.

Perhaps the closing price represents the current value. Cine is a shrinking market and there is a recession on I hear.
Plus doesn't anybody look for "bargains" on eBay.

There were ST1200's on ebay just recently that went for a lot more than that one did.

GBP 94.91 for a ST-1200!!!

UNBELIEVABLE.......

Having read his description

quote:
THIS PROJECTOR IS IN EXCELLENT FULL WORKING CONDITION AND WAS ONLY BOUGHT FROM PERRY MOVIES IN HESTON ON THE 13.03.05 FOR £375.00
HE is not new to 8mm, so he didn't find this projector in the closet!

I can imagine How he was disappointed with this result!!

?????

I think the reason it went for such a low price was because it was pickup only. This would certaintly limit the market.

And it is such a popular projector that most collectors have already got one and didnt want another in the current economic climate.

There was a dealer at Ealing - I think it was Buckingham - selling a ST1200 and was asking a lot more than £94 for it.

What are these actually worth, Elmo experts?

What its worth I suppose is whatever your prepared to pay for it. What it costs is that figure divided by the months you plan to keep it!.

That last one looks like an early machine. Better Elmo owners than me can tell you but I was advised to go for the HD later model. I have tow of these, one magnetic only and one both mag and optical and certainly agree they are build like tanks. I think I paid about £250 each for them several years ago.

I think these can take more punishment than say the GS1200. You need to watch out for the version that has or had the rubber coating on the shutter wheel as it can perish. Not a major issue but if it has been removed it can affect playback speed.

Perhaps he should have started the auction with a little higher price, or sold it back to me, I would have given him a fair price.
Still alive and living in Heston... compling a mega List !!!

OK, if a non-collector who knows no better puts one up on Ebay I might expect him not to know what he'd like to get for it.

If any of you Super 8 collectors were to put one up on Ebay and had a reserve, what would the reserve be?
