Deranns list just arrived and I see 'For the Birds' has been released as a 200fter!! [Smile]

Thanks Duncan, my order will be with you very soon!

This took me by surprise a bit because I remember mentioning this on one of the other threads as a short that I would really like to see released, is this proof that our ideas are heard? [Wink]

So, any one got a copy yet? Be nice to read a review. I'm away for a couple of weeks from Saturday so shan't get to see it until I get back, Damn [Frown]

Mike.

ps. I'm going to be in New York for a few days next week, can any of you State Side Chaps reccommend any good shops in the city for browsing super 8 gear?

I absolutely agree, and want a copy myself, but I'm a bit baffled by something: The version I have on the Monsters Inc. DVD is about 3 minutes long, what's on the rest of that 200 feet?

Applause for Derann though, this is exactly the kind of stuff I want to see on Super-8.

Can't help you on Super-8 shopping in NYC, I get most of my best deals in the UK!

Hello Steve

The mystery might be solved, For the Birds is lited twice in the present list, once as a 100fter and once as a 200fter. Maybe it is really only 100ft which I guess would be about right for 3-4 minutes with tail and leader at 24fps [Frown]

Perhaps Duncan can confirm [Smile]

Mike.

The top of Derann's list always states that the reel size does not denote the length of the film.

Keith has the review print and it is indeed about 100ft. Another excellent print with good sound. Had us both cackling with laughter and fighting over who was going to do the review.

Hello Folks,

Just to confirm that "For The Birds" comes in at 80ft, priced £19.99 + postage and reviews should be with you pretty soon courtesy of either Keith or John depending on who emerges victorious.
To save me listing all of our latest releases the following is an up and coming press release for the next issue of Film For The Collector, our quarterly magazine, also plenty more in the pipeline.......

DERANN PRESS RELEASES

THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT!

Derann have been in talks with a lamp manufacturer in order to guarantee the long term availability of a discontinued projector lamp.
Unavailable for a long time, from many dealers, the 24v 200w ESC, which is recommended by Elmo for use in its GS1200 range, will be especially manufactured and should retail at around the usual price for this lamp. Check out the Derann Newsletter for final availability and price.

MORE C.G.I. ‘TOONS FROM DERANN

Derann have announced two new great additions to their ever expanding C.G.I. Range of animated cartoons.
Following hot on the heels of their popular release “Gone Nutty” they have announced the release of “The Final Fight Of Osiris”, which is the first segment from the wildly acclaimed Animatrix series. Also available by the time you read this will be another C.G.I. release entitled “For The Birds” a great little programme filler and very, very repeatable. All three titles are released in stereo, whilst the Animatrix segment is being released in stereo and scope.

TRAILERS GALORE AND MORE…

According to Derann you just can’t get enough of ’em, trailers that is. With six already released since March, they have announced three triple reels that should have customers foaming at the mouth. They are “Finding Nemo” which includes the full trailer to Finding Nemo plus teasers to Jungle Book 2, Treasure Planet and Nemo. “The Action Trailer Reel” contains The Italian Job (2003 remake), Tomb Raider II : The Cradle Of Life and Terminator III : The Rise Of The Machines. Finally “The Fantasy Scope Trailer Reel” which contains Pirates Of The Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion and The Hulk. Check out the Derann Newsletter for release dates and prices.

NEW ADVERT REEL NOW AVAILBLE FROM DERANN

By the time you read this “Cinema Advert Reel # 26” should be in stock at Derann. This reel, the latest in a long and very popular line of advert reels that date back to the very origins of Derann, will no doubt please all out there, who enjoy turning a simple film show into a near cinema experience. This full reel includes Volkswagen Baby, Heineken, Scwarzkop, Mazda (Zoom, Zoom, Zoom), Walls, Virgin (Idle Thumbs), Alton Towers (Air Ride) and Hondas’ Knock on effect Ad which is without doubt the Ad of 2003.

Think that's all for now and thanks for showing interest.

All the best,

Duncan

"Gone Nutty" is about 150ft. Comes with excellent stereo sound which gives a good rumble if you have a sub-woofer. Wonderful stuff this one and very repeatable. I've shown it about 10 times and there are still more people to show it to.
