Hi I just wondered what we have got available out there film cleaner wise.
Anyone used vitafilm at all, I think it still about.
I could do with a nice kind lubricater for some old super 8 B+W stuff, however I am very aware some cleaners can cause it to buckle or warp.
I think I saw a witners product mentioned, anyone know about that one etc etc etc.
Thanks, Mark.

I've asked this same question myself and I was warned that lubricants/cleaners can often do more harm than good being that they often leave a build-up on the film which down the road can cause problems. Yet, on the other hand, what is one to do when you have B&W film that "chatter" as they go through your projector? O'h my.......what to do?

If you can find any Thermofilm out there buy it. Nothing else compares.

I have said it loads of times on this forum, Try Cresclean from Phil at Classic Home Cinema. It seems to get better the longer it is on the film. I have never seen any warpage caused by the use of this product unlike the very bad warpage caused by another product just recently used and never to be used again. [Frown]

I tried vaseline for a while and found that everything slipped through the gate easily with no scratching although the picture was a little soft in terms of focus! [Eek!]

Yep, Cresclean gets my vote- even smells good too! Mixed with a little of Deranns film cleaner (which evaporates real quick) it has done wonders for my coffee table. [Big Grin]

Next you`ll be telling us you only keep a jar in the house because of the kids.
Reminds me of the time one winter I had been sledging and a friend asked me what I had been doing and I said I had been going up and down all afternoon but I kept falling off and there were aboout 15 of us at it and it got a bit wet towards the end.
What an afternoon that was !!!!!!!!!.
best Mark.
