You may remember i did a little bit to see if i can get 800ft boxes re-manufactured, well!! So far the word is that the company we are useing at the moment can do them but they want a minimum of 500. Thats a little heavy so i am looking at alternatives unless Derann and P Foster were to come in with me, i think at this early stage it would be a bit cheeky of me to approach, [Big Grin] I'll keep you all informed.
on the engineering front, i am still on the case and am chasing up this coming week. [Wink]

I use to work for a carton company and on plain cartons they would quote around 250-500 as a minimum order. i would really like some of these 800 boxes. Any idea how much they would work out to be?
It would be good if you could get someone like Paul or Phil to help out, or maybe we could just buy a trace and cut them out with scissors, i know how to do home made creases. [Big Grin]

Keep the good work up Tom.

Chris.

Again, I would also like some. The trouble with the distributors such as Dearann etc is that they dont sell film on 800ft reels which is why they sell only 200, 400 and 600ft boxes. I know that Derann sell 1200ft white boxes so maybe they will be interested in 800 ft ones.
Best of luck with it all Tom, Kev. [Smile]

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Tom I could use about 20 or so/ what do they work out at? I don't think it is at all cheeky to approach them. They have access to a wider circle of cine people and I am sure will be pleased to mark them by a few pennies etc.

Tom:

As we have talked about in the past, I too would like to
get, say 20 to start off with. Could narrow it down if
we knew the price.

Yep, ur riight, i am the customer and will bend thier ears a little tomorrow, i keep trying to prise a price out of them, the 1200's from Derann (i think) are in the regions of 1.50 so it wouldnt be out the question if i could get them for between 60p-£1.00, if 500 is minimum they should be much cheaper, i'm on the case. The thing about asking Derann to chip in is, if they sell boxes, and also use boxes for there own releases, that means they already got a supplier, so I don't think they would chip in, and if you were say to ask Derann the name of their supplier so you could get some boxes, I don't think they would be fothcoming with the name, becuase they would want to sell them to you retail.

Ian,

You don't ask...You don't get!

I would fully agree with your comments and it may just be that other dealers would be interested along with Derann in taking a few not only to distribute but also to replace their own worn out boxes.

I hardly think Derann make enough money to keep Ged in tea bags from selling card boxes. Perhaps Ged doesn't drink tea- then I am stumped! [Big Grin]

Derann may take some as this size box is not availible. there old supplier had problems with the machinery and due to the cost would not repair it, hence 800ft card boxes no longer availible, No releases are bought out on 800ft spools so hopefully i may be onto something. [Wink]
