Hi Nick, Painting a black border onto any screen is not a good idea. The paint will run, and you will never get a razor sharp edge, which is what is required to really enhance the picture. I would recommend making a simple rectangular frame which hangs right in front of the screen. Make it out of 2 inch wide x 1/4 ins thick wooden strips, and paint it matt black. You can also incoporate swivels into the frame if you wish, so it can fold up when not in use. A black border is the single most effective way to radically improve the apparent sharpness, contrast, and color of your S8 films.
