So, I figured out how to enter the live chat. Don't you need a microphone to make this work or do the computer speakers act as a a microphone? I know a speaker can work both ways. Also, can it be used with more than two people at once. Do you key a post saying meet me in the chat room at two?

No 'Chat' rooms do not use speech. You type in what you would say and enter it. Then others in the 'Chat' room read it live and type in thier comment live straight away. Many people can join in, also more than one 'conversation' can take place at once, you soon get use to this, as it looks confusing at first.

On the log-in page for the chat room you can choose which color that you prefer your text responses to be displayed in. This helps in sorting out the different "voices". I have only had the pleasure once, with Joe Taffis, to be logged in while someone was actually in the room!

Speech would be cool, hey! That would put another accent on the Forum (pun intended). I believe in a few years speech will be a common place option with computers. I know it exit now, but not common place.

Would you believe twice? I had a nice little "talk" with Henry Perangelo & Chip in the beautifully decorated Chat Room yesterday. So come on, log in and hang out for a bit. Someone will drop by.... Doug

Hey Joe, How about joining the chat-room on Thursdays at 8:00pm EST? Perhaps we can get Chip and Douglas Meltzer to join also ...

I CAN'T get in. Do you need a different name and password to the ones used in the forum? Or as you all seem to be in the USA limited to USA members?

David,
Same name, same password. I was in the chat room briefly yesterday at 8:30pm EST when Ian John from the UK joined in. That was very nice of him considering it was 1:30am on his end of the keyboard!
