Just wondered if anyone has got the supplimental documents to the service manual for the GS1200 Xenon. As far as I know Elmo didnt produce a manual specific to the xenon but additions to the manual for the std GS. There are a number of differances between the models so this info would be useful. While I am asking I'm also interested in the suppliments for the GS1200 Pcom. Scans of the pages is all I would want or I could copy them covering all postage costs. Many thanks, Kev.

I just downloaded the manual. I never even knew it existed! All I can say is....wow. That looks very scary to take that apart.

Yes Alan it is a little scary when you look at the manual. About a year ago I took the bull by the horns and stripped out the main mechanism to install a 2 bladed shutter. It took me all day , but Kevin later emailed me and said he had done this job in an hour and a half! There are many areas of the GS1200 that I have just been too afraid to mess with, such as the claw and cam, and the optical sound head. The GS1200 is a very complex beast, and can be easily messed up if your not very careful. Sometimes I look inside it and marvel that it works at all!

No its not that scary really. Yes when you look at the manual and see just whats involved it can be a put off. Like most jobs though, if you can understand how each part works and what it does then the job will be a whole lot easier. As for taking the shutter assay out there are some short cuts I now have learned which means that you dont have to strip all the cogs etc out like Elmo suggest so it really can make the job so much quicker. I would still like to see some of the additions to the std manual though if any one has them.
Kev.
