Hi-
I just saw a Eumig 804 two track for sale at a local flea market. I was thinking about taking a film up there and testing it to see if it works o k and maybe purchase it as a back-up-back-up projector.
I haven't heard too much about this model. Can anyone recommend it? What are its pros and cons?
Eumig 2 track 804 model? This is a first for me. Is it possible that it is a dual gauge machine and if you place the sound switch between 'N' & 'S' it will then play both tracks?
Hope it works out for you. Let us know the details.
Best Wishes, Michael

I know Eumig made a Sonomatic 824 model that's 2-track capable... I don't suppose the '2' in 824 withered over the years and now looks like a zero...

And it is indeed a dual-gauge, 2-track projector. My guess is that it plays and records either track 1 or track 2 (which is the single magnetic track for standard 8mm films), but can't play back both. But that's just a guess.

Thanks for the picture Jan!
Yep, thats the one.
As far as purchasing it, I'm not sure, since I don't really need one right now. They want $60.00 for it. It looks a little scratched up, but if I get time to take a film up there to test and it plays well, I might be tempted to get it.

It records on both tracks separately, but it can play them back simultaneously. Very silent, and you can replace the lens if you want.
