Video on film
The Black & White Film Factory from Ontario, Canada offers a service that is unique worldwide. They Copy DV and HDV video onto Super 8 film, in color or black & white. 'smallformat' tests its quality.
A feature on Super 8
German actress Franka Potente has shot a 48-minute silent movie. She captured her film on Super 8 color stock, intending it to resemble a silent movie from the 1920s. It was converted to B&W in post production and features a piano soundtrack. The piece was a big success at Berlinale, the Berlin film festival, and will be featured in movie theatres starting in August. smallformat brings an exclusive report on this unique project.
Straight Eight
