Hi Folks,

I'm new to this forum, not new to 8mm.I've got a Sankyo XL 420,my problem is that the iris seems to be stuck at around f 2.2.I try to move the manual iris knob and it won't budge, the knob turns but the iris window needle stays put and when you look through film gate, the vanes don't move. They don't move even if you push the fade button.Anyone know where I can score a repair manual?Does anyone have a repair manual they can upload to me?
My Elmo ST1200 projector has a speed issue and a loop holding problem. It won't thread without some serious assistance and it tries to punch new perfs in the film. Not sure if the claw is out of sync with the sprocket drive or what.Anyone have similar inho about these projectors?

Hello Marty

Welcome to the Forum! [Smile]

You can get a repair manual for your 420 here; http://www.oldtimercameras.com/stock/Model.asp?Model=10991&ModelPage=true Oldtimer do great re-prints of equipment manuals, nicely bound. [Wink]

I'm sure the guys on here will be able to help you with your speed and loop problem too.

Marty,

Just bringing this back up to the top for you again to see if some one (Kev et al [Wink] ) can help with your Elmo problems.

Hi Marty,

Does the Iris and the vanes work when the butten is set to auto?

If so my guess is that it is just the button there is something wrong with. There is probably some sort of potmeter behind there and a piece of the button may have broken off so you are not able to use the manual setting anymore. If this is so it should be easy to fix.
