Hi everyone,

Can anyone suggest me a good super 8 film lab to buy some film and processing? in australia better yet sydney.

Is there anyone from the forum from australia that films super 8? maybe they can refer me some good stores, since my brother who lives in australia is comming to visit, and I plan to ask him to bring me some film and later take it back to sydney and process it.

He called for me stock vision in sydney and they said t64 was aprox $25 AUD, but the procesing for one roll of film was $40 AUD (quite expensive don´t you think.)

Hi Pablo,

I am not in Australia, but bought a lot of films from Australia during the pre-paid envelop available. I always bought from Vanbar Photographic in Sydney (or Melbourne). You can buy from them on-line or off-line. They have a website here .

Before the end of pre-paid envelope, they were the cheapest place where I could buy AU$18/K-40 silent cartridge. But now, the market seems different, price become more expensive, while we still have to spare our cost for lab.

Since your brother will take the cartridges out of Australia, don't forget to ask the tax invoice (if your purchse more than AU$ 200, I think), because your brother can get GST refund (12.5%) at the Airport.

There is also an Ebay seller in Australia who offering AU$ 22.5/cartridge (+ S&H AU$ 15) with minimum purchase 5 cartridges. Just do your mathematic for the economical one (S=H cost vs GST refund). This is his Ebay link

Regarding the lab, I think the guys at Vanbar can refer you to the best one in Sydney.

thanks and happy filming,

Hi Pablo,

I am one of the largest sellers of Super 8 64T in Australia, I have sold hundreds in the last few months at $24.00 per roll for any amount. Search for me on ebay "Super 8 Centre".

Processing done here in the state of Victoria is $20 per roll that includes lubrication, leader, spool and return postage to anywhere in Australia. The other retailers use this same lab but add on their profit. This lab is not mine, but I supply all details with every roll I sell.

There are many others that sell Super 8 here including most of the stocks from around the world, I specialise in 64T only.

David
