The respons I received from the forum helped me a lot in dealing with the speed problem I was experiencing while playing movies with my S938. However despite all the tips there was still some slowing left which needed to be solved. The reason for the slowing was eventually found when I disassembled the speed control knob and revealed the parts hidden behind that.
I had noticed that the two drivewheels had some usage wear on places where the engine drive wheel didn't reach.
All I needed to do was to line up the engine drive wheel with these markings by loosening the white bolt hidden inside the controlknob. A previous owner must have fiddled with this leaving the speed control knob unable to select 24-speed.
