Is there a better lens (say 1.1 or even 1.0) for the Elmo ST1200? I'm sure I could get a brighter picture from it if I had a better lens.

Yes. My blue box is marked:- "Elmo Projection Lens. F1.1 f=12.5~25mm for GP Series."

Simon, they quite often come up in Eabay. There's a guy in Germany who seems to be constantly selling them in their original boxes with a buy-it-now price.

Otherwise, put a wants note on here, look at the dealers lists and check out the stalls at the BFCC and NFCC.

I think I'm right in saying that the GS, ST and GP series all shared the same lens fittings and are thus interchangeable.

Good luck

Simon, check the "equipment for sale" section of the Forum. Member Mark Todd is selling a superb Schneider Xenovaron lens fitted for Elmo.

I do quite like the Xenovarnon lens for the colder light with B/W esp. It seems to cance out the yellow of the lamp better than the elmo 1.0 that enhances it. You just need to make sure it has the sleeve with it (if it needs one)
