Does anyone know of a source of spares for Chinon Projectors. Preferably here in the UK. I need the little head presser unit as the one in an SS1200 I have here is well worn and not pressing the film against the soundhead properly. The same machine was also sold as the Revue Lux 80.
Thanks, Kev.

Ho, Ho, Ho Merry Christmas Mr Faulkner. I have a complete SS1200 you can have for spares. It does have a sound fault but to be honest I have never got round to giving it the once over.
If you want it, it's yours for a coffee and a bacon roll at the BFCC. Comes with original box with styrene inserts and the unused dust cover.
Looks like Kev is now the man with Chinnon spares.

Thats brilliant news. When are you next in the area? Dont want to lug that about on the trains. Dont think it would sit still enough on the back of Kermit2

Underneath the heads you will see the pressure pad assay which lifts up and down when you move from still to sound position. You will notice that the assay pivots round what looks like a knurled screw/knob. It has a slot in so that you can undo and remove it.
Once its off just slide the whole pressure assay towards you and it will come right off allowing you to now get to the heads for cleaning.

As you're now chock-full-o-spares Mr. Faulkner I think it's time you got my own cream crackered SS1200 back on the road!!! So many ailments owing to all the re-recording it was put through years ago. But it does produce very good results recording soundtracks into crystal clear stereo.

The smaller Chinon models SP-330/350 are frequently offered on ebay germany for a few euros (often as Revue lux sound 25,35,620). Many parts as the head presser unit, gate area and claw mechanism can be used as spare for the SS1200.
