My girlfriend has been really into watching 'Komaneko-curious cat' on youtube lately. It is a series of short stop motion films featuring the titular character. The 8mm connection is that in most of the shorts she has her trusty 8mm camera with her.

The episode 'first step' is entirely about her dilegently making her own stop motion film on 8mm (Or since she is japanese, I guess it would be single 8). Very cute and great for children as well as adults.

While this is a japanese-produced short, there is zero dialogue so no language barrier worries here. Enjoy.
