Hello all, have listed a few bits for sale. I had a documentary "Skydiving" which I had bought last year and was going to list on Ebay. I had never watched this film and had briefly considered selling without viewing as it was supposed to be black & white so therefore no issues of turning or fade. However I decided to view it to make sure it went through my projector ok and also thought that I might as well watch it before I sold it. Just as well I did; turned out to be a 1970's hardcore porn film!!! Needless to say it didn't find it's way onto Ebay!
Have other members had similar experiences of buying films that turned out to be something else entirely?

I have an educational film entitled "Skydive" . It's a real crowd pleaser. It shows people jumping out of small planes with close photography and many stunts. All in LPP color.

Dave, Are sure about the film being hard porn, it maybe worth checking it out several times before you draw on any conclusions. Chris.

A few weeks ago someone actually listed some old super 8 porn films on ebay for auction, but they were removed before the auctions ended. The boxes even had topless photos on them.

Hello again, I've actually got 3 male friends coming around on Saturday for our bi-monthly film night; they might help me recheck the contents!

I bought a copy of what I thought was the old Blackhawk title "From Horse car to Subway in New York City" on ebay. Nice box, beautiful colour print................of a family on holiday in Pisa, Italy!
It was described as no guarantees given, don't know how to check films etc etc.
Anyway, when I do get the film I have a nice original box for it!

At various times I have accuired many lots of "home movies" with weddings /birthdays/family stuff. I don't always have time to look at them all right away.
Well, I was searching for a nice 400' reel to use for another film I had and was just pulling out the leaders on some of the "home movies" and saw some writing...
Turns out it was a Marx Bros silent. I am not that famililar with them so I'm not sure about the title but it takes place in a department store with escalators.

It happened twice, to me. The movies I was expecting to receive were a couple of Disney's 'shorts' eh eh eh. I was not supposed a hard core section at the studios existed! No animals at all, at least (you know, something like dalmatians, ducks or mices).
Well, the films were REEEEEEEEALLY pink! A huge quantity of pink, and not so short ah ah ah !
True story mine too. The sellers finally told me they did not know anything about super 8 and they were not in a position to check what they had sold; they both took the movies back and I was totally refounded. They were two good occasions to learn an important lesson. I now ALWAYS ask for some shots before buying from Ebay (sometimes also from members of the Forum), if I don't know who I'm dealing with. No pictures, no business.
