Hi I just wondered if anyone has a spare elmo 600 feet machine motor, any varient lying around or in an old machine possibly please. My minty 600 has given up the Ghost in reverse 95%.

Mark, Please don't take this the wrong way, but is it physically refusing to run backwards because of a mechanical problem in the motor itself, because that's somewhat unusual. Usually this is down to the Forward/Reverse switching in this model. Martin.

Hi Martin, its running fine in forwards but all missing and juddering if you will in reverse, even with no load etc. Maybe the magnets etc, I`m not sure.
Its a barely run machine, that can often work out very good or the other way.

Reversing the leads to the motor (physically) should result in the problem occurring when switched to "Forward" if the Motor is at fault. If it still occurs when switched to "Reverse" then the switches are at fault. If it's definitely the motor, the most probable cause is one of the carbon brushes being broken or badly chipped or worn out. It's usually possible to find suitable replacements , or file them down from slightly larger ones.
