I'm in the process of transferring some old 8mm home movies to digital, I've built a rig to essentially take a high res image of each frame of the film, which I then reassemble into a video.
The main issue is that the film does have some scratching, I know that there are products ( filmguard ) and devices to handle that situation under normal circumstances. The question is if I have a mechanism to clean the film before it enters my rig will the cleaning fluid survive (not evaporate?) until it enters the machine. Keeping in mind the rig runs at about 1 frame every 4 or 5 seconds. Any suggestions would be welcome.
